Add your provider API key to the vault. Renio will not display it again; your tools will use their own Renio keys.

A PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

One research agent.
€20 for its task.

Connect an agent to Renio with its own key. Give it a €20 total budget and set an expiry date. Its spending stays separate from your other tools.

02Its spending allowance€20 in total in this example
03An expiry date24 October 2026

Choose a total allowance that does not renew, or a monthly or daily budget. Expiry is independent; changing the limit does not reset spending.

01 / CONNECT

One key per provider.

Add one key for each provider you use. Renio keeps them in its encrypted vault and uses them to relay your requests.

02 / ORGANISE

One Renio key per tool.

Create dedicated keys for your apps, projects or agents. Give each one a name, a budget and, if needed, an expiry date.

03 / USE

Connect your tool.

Set the relay URL and Renio key in a compatible tool. Its requests go through Renio and its spending is attributed to that key.

Your real provider keys are not distributed to your tools. A Renio key is still a secret to protect. Revoke it individually without replacing your provider key.

Understand the security model

FROM YOUR FIRST KEY TO DAILY OVERSIGHT

Your tools, organised.
Their rules, too.

Projects to organise your work, dedicated keys to separate usage and a shared statement to understand spending.

01KEYS & PROJECTS

A new tool.
A key of its own.

  • A named key for each use case.A coding assistant, an app or a task: each gets its own key, assigned to the right project.
  • Keep your projects organised.Create, rename, archive and restore projects. Archiving preserves keys and spending; it does not revoke access.
  • Stay in control of each key.Rename or revoke a key individually. Your other keys remain usable.

02BUDGETS & LIMITS

The right amount.
For the right use case.

TotalFor a task
MonthlyFor an app
DailyFor regular usage
  • Rules that adapt to your needs.Adjust spending limits, requests per minute and expiry without erasing spending already committed.
  • Alerts at 80% and 100%.Receive an email when a threshold is crossed and find alert history, including delivery status, in your spending dashboard.
  • A key can also be uncapped.Track its spending and keep the option to revoke it at any time.

03SPENDING & ACTIVITY

From the monthly total
to a single request.

  • Five ways to view spending.By provider, project, key, model or day. See today’s total and the current month’s total too.
  • The right filters, a complete statement.Combine project, key and provider filters, then browse the journal page by page. Totals cover the full selection.
  • Numbers with context.Cost, tokens, cache, duration and status. Open a request to find its ID and pricing version. Unmeasured costs are identified.

04VAULT & CONNECTIONS

Your keys, centralised.
Your tools stay yours.

  • Five providers, their native SDKs.OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral and OpenRouter. Configure the Renio URL and authentication; streaming responses remain incremental.
  • Replace your provider key, keep your Renio keys.Provider keys are encrypted and cannot be displayed again. Replace them without reissuing Renio keys, or remove a vault connection.
  • A secret shown once.Copy a new Renio key when you create it. Renio does not retain its full secret, or your request prompts and responses.

Documentation
Does Renio replace my AI provider?

No. You keep your accounts and their billing. Renio forwards requests from compatible tools and gives you a shared view of the keys that go through it. Each provider needs its own account and key.

Does it work with all my AI tools?

A tool must let you configure the gateway URL and authentication, or provide a compatible integration. An API key field alone is not enough. Check the quickstart to connect your tool.

Can one Renio key use several providers?

Yes. The same Renio key can use providers connected to your account through their respective URLs. Its budget is shared across its calls: €10 with OpenAI and €15 with Anthropic together use a €25 allowance. Keys do not have per-provider restrictions. Budgets are per key; there is no account-wide or project-wide cap shared across separate keys.

What happens when I revoke a key?

New requests are refused while your other keys remain usable. Once revocation has propagated, Renio also interrupts calls it is still forwarding. This does not recall responses already sent or cancel charges already incurred with the provider.

Does my budget prevent every possible overrun?

Controls apply to requests that go through Renio according to the available rules and measurements. They are not a universal guarantee on your provider invoice. Requests already transmitted may still be billed. Capped keys refuse usage whose cost cannot be estimated; supported text requests require an explicit output limit. If budget tracking is unavailable, new controlled requests are refused. Keys may also be left uncapped.

What appears in the activity journal?

Metadata: date, provider, model, tokens, cost, duration and status. Cached tokens and unknown costs are distinguished, without inventing an amount. Each row opens a copyable request ID and its pricing version when available. The dashboard shows the current month, with totals for the full selection. Demonstrations on this page use fictional data, not your conversations.

How do I sign in?

Without a password, using an email link or a six-digit code. Google and GitHub are also offered when enabled. The website and your account are available in French and English.

Can I reorganise my projects?

From Keys, rename, archive and restore projects. Archived projects do not count towards your active-project limit. Restoring a project remains subject to your plan limits. Archiving does not revoke its keys.

Where can I manage or cancel my subscription?

Open the Stripe portal from Account to manage or cancel your subscription. Stripe hosts payments and billing; your payment card details do not pass through Renio.

Can I retrieve a key’s secret?

The full secret is shown once, when created. Renio retains only its authentication hash, prefix and last four characters for identification. If you lose it, revoke that key and create a new one.

Can I use the dashboard on mobile?

The dashboard adapts to smaller screens and offers graphite and light themes. Choose your theme using the button at the top of the page.
